Responding to our current situation

Recently I have been trying to process all that has been going on in the U.S government, it’s a bit overwhelming and such a big thing, that I have questioned how appropriate it is to try to be selling artwork. By comparison, artwork feels like such a small thing even when I know in my gut that art is important. I know that authoritarian governments generally work to silence both artists and academics, which means there is really something very important about all that I do.

So, while I’ve been thinking and praying about all of this, one thing has been foremost in my thoughts: LOVE. I’ve come to realize that I need to share LOVE above all things, and very specifically, the LOVE of God.

I know that there are a lot of folks calling themselves Christians that have given God a bad name, that have given Christ a bad name, and I am feeling very much the drive to more accurately represent Jesus Christ and his LOVE to everyone. I feel that I need to share LOVE through all that I do and especially through my art. I don’t know how that will come out just yet but I’m just sharing this with everyone right now because I also think that being open and transparent is important, too.

My mission has always been to bring hope and healing to others through my art, so I think emphasizing LOVE somehow is just the way it will be coming out.
